Look who came to hear Daddy sing.....the very adorable Baby Lionel and Mommy, Jessica. It's hard to believe he's a month old already and this is the first time that Kory and I were able to get our hands on him. It's amazing how these kids with singing daddies are able to sleep right through all that loud music.

The guys only sang on Sunday. We were excited to be at a new church on Sunday morning, Crossroad United Methodist Church in Williamston, MI. They are a wonderful congregation and treated us very well. The evening concert was at First United Methodist in Flat Rock, MI. We were there in November and they were kind enough to ask us back for a community program they were having with the other churches in the Flat Rock area. Another great crowd that made us feel very welcome. I'm not really sure if the pastor really wanted to hear the guys sing again though because the first question he asked was, "Where is the little guy?" (meaning Noah Hawks) Our thanks go out to both churches!

And of course a long day of singing isn't complete unless we run into some nasty weather and roads on the way home. As we left Flat Rock, it was raining and all of a sudden we were being pelted with HUGE snowflakes. By the time we dropped Shem off in Hartland the front of the bus was covered in ice. But the Lord kept us safe again and since the guys don't sing again for a few weeks, we hope that Sunday's ride will be the last for this season with snow or ice.

We are still looking for any interested men with a heart for ministry and ability to sing the bass part to come and audition. If you or someone you know fits that description, please give Chuck a call at (810) 395-4977.

The ROYALHEIRS would like to announce that after eight years of singing bass for the quartet, Jerry White has decided to come off the road.

We are now accepting demo tapes for the bass position and will be holding auditions at a later date. If you are interested, please give me a call at (810) 395-4977. If you would like to email a demo or would like more information, the email address is Demos tapes can also be mailed to my attention at PO Box 31, Capac, MI 48014.

I thank Jerry for all his years of service to the quartet. He has provided us with solid foundation that a quartet needs. We will miss him dearly but we know that this is what God wants him to do at this time.

Please keep Jerry and all The ROYALHEIRS in your prayers as we go through this transitional period in our ministry.

The ROYALHEIRS were very busy last weekend. Our Flint Homecoming Concert with our friends, The Gospelmen and guests, The Dove Brothers was on Friday night. Everyone there seemed to really enjoy the concert but due to the economic times here in Michigan, the crowd was down about 200 people. We would like to thank both The Gospelmen and Dove Brothers for participating in this promotion.

On Saturday, we sang for the Lansing, MI Library Association in Mason, MI. Sunday morning we sang at Albion Free Methodist and our evening concert was at Reading Nazarene Church. All the concerts were great and we met many new friends. We don't sing again until the end of the month and by that time I'm sure we will be anxious to be back singing after two weeks off.

We are proud to announce the arrival of the latest addition to the ROYALHEIRS family.....Lionel Shem Koutz. As you can see by the pictures, he's absolutely adorable! Poor Jessica certainly had a time of it but after 30 hours (you read it correctly 30 hours!!) of labor Lionel finally arrived. He weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. and is 20 3/4 inches long. Daddy Shem reports that he has a beautiful disposition and hardly ever cries (hope it stays that way). As you can see by the pictures he has a beautiful head of blonde hair. We can't wait to see the little guy in person. Chuck commented that he was very appreciative of the fact that Jessica was a truly dedicated gospel-singing wife and made sure the baby was born before our first big concert of the year on Friday night.
Speaking of Friday night (March 6th), we hope you all come out for The Flint Homecoming Concert with our guests, The Dove Brothers and The Gospelmen. If you haven't already purchased your tickets, give Chuck a call at (810) 395-4977 to get the advance ticket price of $18.00. Or if you prefer, you can buy your tickets at the door for $20.00.
Hope to see you all on Friday.
