Chuck asked that I post something on the website and I'm not really sure what to write. As many of you know his beloved father, Hugh Robbins had been hospitalized a month ago with congestive heart failure. His health spiraled downward after being admitted and the decision was made to not put him through any more surgery. He was taken off life support on Tuesday and after the machines were turned off, he only took a couple breaths and went home to be with his Lord.
I have only had the pleasure of being loved and loving Hugh for the past four and half years and had hoped to have a great many more years with him. He was such a sweet man and he loved to tease and be teased. I'll never forget the first time I met him. Chuck had asked me out on a date to a Kirk Talley concert (what other kind of date would it be). Chuck was driving and his mom was riding in the front with him because it's hard for her to get in and out of the vehicles. Anyway, my seat was next to Hugh. He, in his always gentlemanly way, got out of the van to let me in. I climbed in my seat and as he was getting in he accidentally (??) pulled on Jackie's seat belt. She turned around and said, "Wow, I don't even know you yet and you're trying to choke me." I tried to tell her it wasn't me but she wasn't buying it. I looked over at Hugh and he was laughing at me. We always laughed at how he tried to get me in trouble from Day 1. I am sure going to miss him! (The picture above is Hugh with all his children at last year's family reunion.)
Visitation will be at Miles Martin Funeral Home, 1194 E. Mount Morris Road, Mount Morris, MI from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. today (June 11th). Funeral service will be at Trinity Assembly of God, 4363 W. Mount Morris Road, Mount Morris, MI at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12th. Condolence cards can be sent to The Royalheirs, PO Box 31, Capac, MI 48014.
Please keep Chuck's mom, Jackie and the rest of our family in your prayers as we go through this overwhelming time of sorrow.
Blessings,
Pam
